Title: Need help - WATER LEAKING
Post by: Anonymous on May 5, 2005, 16:31
Hy.
Yesterday there was some hard rain and when i start driving, there was this sound, like i left half filled bottle of water somewhere inside car. It was strange and i started to look around and find out this -  s:oops:  s:oops:   THERE WAS WATER INSIDE ROOF COMPARTMENT. A lot of water   s:cry:  s:cry:

Now my question is - is my soft top damaged? Is it very serious?

I looked around inside compartment and find out two small circle openings on both sides. Are they suposed to let water out of compartment? Are they stucked or dirty or they are made for something else.

Tommorow i will take my car to repair shop but i would be very glad for some of your diagnosis.

Sorry i put this topic here on general section instead in problems but it looks like most of you first check this part.
Thanks.

Try searching for cleaning vents, there is an article around here somwhere!
Yes, I think the holes you can see are where the water is supposed to go! Look down from the outside of the car in line with the side vents, the usualy have little rubber covers over them.

You can take the side vents off and clean them out from the sides or reach in with the roof half down and clean it from there. Thin hands required though!

[EDIT]
It was actually under  blocked and drain in the search!

Can you tell it is the end of the day!

This happened to mine the other day. I hear water sloshing around in the back as I was driving to work. I had to remove the side vents and unclog the drain holes. Really not a great job but it had to be done. More info here:
