Title: Look what's landed
Post by: Carolyn on May 19, 2021, 18:32
David has been messing around with fitting brackets to the spare engine...

So I said, "Wouldn't it help to have a supercharger?"..

One thing led to another.  I can see where this one is going.

I can't recall if you've answered this question before, or if it's even been asked... I'd assume so! Would you consider making installation kits for sale to DIY'ers who can procure their own 'charger and ECU?

If only it were that simple.  The cost of a supercharger is very minor compared to all else that has to be done.

There's the fabrication of a new outlet for the supercharger, making a flexible inlet fit securely to the supercharger.  Which means you'd want a complete supercharger with inlet and outlet.

Then there's a complete custom exhaust including manifold (because the supercharger is in the way).

Plus a blow-off and all kinds of other bits...

If we did it commercially I doubt you'd like the price!

Anyway, we're retired and in no need of another business :)

If someone younger with the energy and skills  want's to copy and produce- we'd be OK with that.  In fact, we would assist.

I appreciate it's no simple task. I read the brilliant build thread, so I should have been a bit clearer with the question :)

I saw a kit for an engineinthewrongplace recently that was ~£500 for the custom ancillary stuff and they left you to do all the other bits. Looked a fair bit easier on that car than the '2 to be fair, with it being in-line.

Understandable that you can't be bothered with the hassle though, I'd imagine it would turn into a full-time job helping buyers out when they ballsed up the install!

The install of the mid engine basically offer nó space thus a total design of intake and exhaust.

The only kit form was the TRD blower for the 1ZZ-FE coming in place of the OEM intake manifold. I would buy one. The rest is just fun day dreaming for me.
