Title: Fuel door
Post by: Rushy67 on May 31, 2021, 20:49
When filling up my car today i had trouble opening the fuel door.
Eventually with my other half lifting the lever i managed to prise the door open to refuel.
I pushed the the little lock button in/out a few times and when stopping at my destination i tried the lever and door opened as it should
Is there any maintenance i should be doing to avoid problems with this in the future?
The lever doesn't feel as if it has any resistance to it when it is pulled upwards.

Not some thing that comes up.

A squib of wd40/gt85 around the visible bits?

More common for the hinge to get dry & it gets difficult to open.

It doesn't have a cold air induction set up behind the battery does it by any chance?
I put one on mine previously and the ducting to the side vent fouled the fuel flap hinge so it didn't move freely.

Mine had seized when I bought it (probably been sitting for a while) and had to be freed up with WD40. I've had no problem since.
