Our MR2 went in for it's MOT last week after standing on our driveway for a good 18 months (due to covid one car in the family was enough), it failed on three major things, a leaking damper, a coil spring had a hairline crack and the hand brake was found to be too slack, needed tightening
I thought handbrake was a job I could do so after viewing lots of YouTube clips on adjusting the handbrake, I got down to it this afternoon

Refitting the self tappers back in I was thinking of replacing these Phillips screw heard for 10mm hex head, so that next time I needed to lift off the centre console I could undo the front ones without having to take out the seats but by then it was getting dark
The garage is going to be fitting the damper and coil spring (too damp and cold for me doing it outside at this time of the year) I dread to think the cost if the garage were going to also be doing the handbrake adjuster nut too
PS, leaves from out trees get everywhere
Good job. There is a way using a swivel socket and extension to adjust the handbrake without removing the center console. I used to bring with me the socket to local meets and reset everyones parking brake.
I leave those front screws out, will put back in when i sell the car...
I cheat and take the seats out, makes things much easier ;)
