Anyone know what kind of mileage to the tank I should be expecting from my UK 5 speed pfl. I've done two 60 mile runs in a day and the rest of the last fortnight have been my normal daily 8 mile journey to work and back (which can be congested some of the time). I was getting well over 300 to the tank with the 6 speed. Currently, I'm heading towards the 250/260 mile mark :-\
I too get about 275 out of a full tank with my 5 speed.
To be fair I drive it to and from work each day which is only about 2 miles from home, so never really gets to warm up properly. Love to get out in it at the weekend for a proper drive.
Bear in mind that you are presumably now using E10 instead of E5 fuel which will give less mileage per tank. If you are using more electrical things as well that will reduce the mpg in the winter.

Apart from the E10 issue, were you using the car during winter?
With the weather being cold, especially in congestion the car will burn more.
Yes, there's been a few frosty mornings and yeh temperature has certainly been cooler but we have mild weather forecast from tomorrow ;D I still think perhaps idle speed maybe running a touch high which is of course another factor :'(
Give the maf a clean.
Yeh done that, reckon it's a sticky iacv. :-\

I was meaning maf/fuel consumption.
But idle, - undo the frunk clips left corner as you look & bleed the radiator when it's hot. If you get a puff of air, repeat the process when hot. It might improve it.

This time of year your consumption will be higher, add in E10, if using it, will make a difference and you could be anywhere from 5-10% down

I am currently getting 400 plus per tank when I take mine out , generally steady speed on motorways typically 90 miles each way usually equates to 45mpg ie 10 miles per litre around town mid 30's I guess. I dont have a heavy right foot! These figures have been constant for the time I have had the car - 18 years
Norman
Crikey Norman, you must be coasting everywhere. That's terrific mileage out of a tank. A very fuel efficient taken care of little 2 you have. ;D
