I am contemplating buying a set of 16'' wheels for one of my Fl cars. I realise that the standard OEM is 15 and 16''
It just so happens that I acquired 4x loose 195/45/16 newish Toyo tyres along with a previous wheel purchase I made but had zero intention of using them.
However, I could maybe use 2 of them on the front
The plan would be either 215 or 225/45/16 on the rear
Any informed opinions very welcome.
I don't see why not?

I run 16s all round, 195 tyres front and 215 rear. The standard wheels needed refurbed but I happened to have a set of 16s that fit.
I do prefer the way the car drives on standard wheels if I'm honest. Car turns in with a bit more vigour now but some of the feel is missing.
Offset is likely a factor, my wheels are et30 from memory and I believe the standard wheels are et45.
Watch out for weight too, if you're looking at aftermarket wheels.
TTE Grandstand are 16" all round with 205 x 45 on fronts and 225 x 40 on the rear to maintain the stagger

We have been running 16x7 wheels all around for years. Try to stay near stock wheel offset of 45. For a while, we ran 2003 16 rear wheels front and rear, but switched to lighter aftermarket wheels.
Because of limited tire sizes available in the US, we run 195/45-16 front and 205/45-16 rear, which seems to work very well. We had run a 215 rear, but now can't find that size in a 195 front in the same tire.
