Interested in opinions on best way forward. Couple of options it seems:
Refurbishment from BigRed - 155.00
Brakeparts.co.uk - ~200.00
Seems to be not a big difference in price between refurb and new ones.. I'm leaning towards buying new.
Had enough of the handbrake now, cables have been replaced already and readjusted 1000 times, time for new calipers.
The trouble with having yours refurbed is that you have to wait days before you can rebuild the car.
I'm in the same boat as you
@B_Tank88 and have looked at BigRedd, BrakeParts etc. I've also looked on AutoDoc and there are some options there for around £148 for 2 rear calipers which seems almost too good to be true?
Can anyone vouch for brands like Ridex, Stark, Esen or A.B.S.?
Also I've just found these:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/185202866453?fits=Plat_Gen%3AMK+III%7CModel%3AMR2&hash=item2b1ef37915%3Ag%3AxkIAAOSwExVhruIi&LH_ItemCondition=3 (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/185202866453?fits=Plat_Gen%3AMK+III%7CModel%3AMR2&hash=item2b1ef37915%3Ag%3AxkIAAOSwExVhruIi&LH_ItemCondition=3)
Again.. too good to be true?
Edit: seems it might be, Google reviews are littered with 1 star reviews of poor customer service and faulty parts. Maybe avoid these!
Given the design problem of the initial part, I would definitely want something with good reviews.
@B_Tank88 I ordered the Ridex parts from Autodoc app with 1L of RBF600 brake fluid. Approx £150. I'll let you know how I get on.

They have but I've only just got back from an extended break. Hopefully can get them all fitted soon.
