Title: New roof
Post by: simonlacey88 on May 3, 2022, 10:04
Hiya Guys
Need to replace the roof. Just spoken to the guys at Swansea and there quoting November this year for the work.
Does anyone know any body in the north that replaces them. Or am I knackered till then.

Cheers

@simonlacey88 I fairly quickly located 3 used roofs for sale (see Wanted section), but if wanting new, if you search 'roofs' you will find an entry in there that itemises + answers the question you pose (from circa 2021 iirc)

Just located the thread here

Has anyone got any views on the quality of the replacement roofs we buy? I have an original vinyl roof and would like one day to renew it with a canvas version. Anyone got a favorite other than Swansea?)(Nothing against Swansea just a long way from me... ) 😎.

There's a company over in Kent that makes and fits roofs but they are over double the price, last time I looked was in the order of £850 for ours.

Raymond, by his own admission said that the quality of his roofs isnt as good as others, but then they are double the price. If you want to keep your car long term, then I suggest you look elsewhere.  If you're happy with a roof that will last 4-5 years (probably longer, but thats all he says) then go for it.

PS: Have we got anyone on here that has a Swansea roof that old? My old one would be, but no idea where that car/roof is now  :(

I had mine done some time ago, cant remember when but would have thought it would be 5-6 years ago?

It is showing some signs of age, some bits have ripped inside near the drains but not anywhere that seems to cause a problem and some of the stitching seems to have worn away around the back window.

Not enough to make me criticise the product though. I am having a new one put on my new car at the end of next month so putting my money where my mouth is!
