Any good, well recommended local garage that's been in business for a long time will be ideal.  It's no different to doing the job on a front-wheel drive car.

Agree with Carolyn, any competent mechanic will be able to change the clutch without any trouble. The MR2 Mk3 is a pretty easy car to get a gearbox off of and the clutch/flywheel on it is nothing unusual. Despite the engine pay being quite compact, there is actually a fair bit of space to manipulate the box, so it slides off and on usually with no issues.

With a 2 poster ramp and transmission jack (as any garage will have) it is pretty straight forward.

I'd personally just ask around the people you know who is a decent mechanic in the area.

Sorry - a bit late to the party  :-[ .

I'd always recommend Steve at Charlesworth Motors for local Roadster garage work. He knows the Club and the car well. Labour time for a clutch comes in nicely below Toyota's official book time.

I'm up there pestering him on occasion, so feel free to PM me if you want more info or a chauffeur to run you back down the hill after drop-off.

Ste

they told me that he was only doing motorcycles now as i spoke to them about 3 months ago. Didnt actually get to speak to Steve but left a message and he didnt call back.
That was my preffered option if you want to persuade him.... would be great to get a lift back as well.

Steve is tough to pin down in the Spring as he preps a ton of race bikes. His son was likely up to his eyeballs in cars and MOTs when you 'phoned!

I'll have a chat with them in the week and see what's what. PM'd you my contact details.
