Chaps,
I remember someone once told me that teh japanese rpefer stiffer springs and soft shocks whereas teh europeans are the other way around.
Or it may have been the reverse.
Anyone remember which?
thanks
i fairly sure it was softer springs and harder shocks, this was talked about fairly recently if i remember rightly Mark
you saying thas what teh Japanese prefer?
I thought it might have been, as I though I asked this a few weeks ago. However as a search gave me nothing I assumed I'd forgotten.
If anybody has a link to that I'd appreciate it.

aha so no one answered
any other opinions?
Well.. on other cars I've owned (and I'd owned both a Japanese import and UK model):
Japanese cars had harder shocks, a higher spring rate and slightly shorter springs. Single rate, non adjustable shocks all round.
UK cars had softer and longer springs (taller ride height by ~20mm), non adjustable shocks up front and two-setting shocks on the rear (automatically actuated on hard launches to stiffen the rear and prevent squat, softer normally).
US cars had even softer springs & shocks, but with all four electrically adjustable to a 'sport' setting that was comparable to the UKs softer setting.
IIRC, E&OE, etc etc
