MR2 Roadster Owners Club

It is with much regret that I am putting Foxy up for sale. I think she is sensibly priced at £4950 and is in great condition covering just 69k miles.

She is currently on my private plate but will transfer back to her original plate shortly.

Foxy is well known to many forum members having previously been owned by @Chilli Girl however to those that don't know her please read on...

EQUIPMENT
15' 5 spoke alloys, heated Leather sport seats, electric windows, air turbulence deflector, heated mirrors, Limited Slip Differential, Duck Tail spoiler, Toyota Alarm system (TVSS), Toyota Entertainment system (Radio/CD)

EXTERIOR
The metallic silver paint finish is well preserved throughout (with a few minor stone chips to front of the bonnet). All body panels are straight and damage free. The only minor modification is the duckbill spoiler which looks fab IMHO. The headlights are nice and bright too. This facelift MR2 Roadster commands positive attention wherever it ventures out of the garage and its appearance belies it's 17 years age.

INTERIOR
The interior bares all the hallmarks of careful ownership - classic black heated leather seats in super condition, the matching door cards and leather gear knob are also in great condition. All the electrics e.g. windows, door mirrors, CD Radio & Ariel etc....work perfectly as to be expected from a car made by Toyota.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Fitted with Toyota's 1ZZ 1.8L 16 valve mid-mounted engine which produces 138bhp with a claimed top speed of 130mph. The engine bay is spotless and still has all factory plates, stickers in place. The 6 speed manual box has a short throw which is light and precise to use.

STEERING & SUSPENSION
Fully standard Toyota suspension and steering, the steering is light but talkative, the chassis is playful and promotes fun.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Standard fitment 5 spoke alloys wheels which are in very good condition with only very light scratches visible. Matching Falken branded tyres fitted with plenty of tread remaining. The original space saver spare wheel, tool-kit/jack, warning triangle look to be unused.

HISTORY/MAINTENANCE FILE
The car comes complete with the original Toyota wallet which includes the owners manual, service book plus Toyota leaflets as supplied when new, 2 Toyota keys, V5C registered in my name at my home address.

Supplied new in Sept 2005 by Westover Toyota in Dorset, the car was owned for its first 8 years by the original keeper. Ownership transferred in 2013 to the second owner who also lived in Dorset where she kept the vehicle for 3 years.

'Foxy' was then acquired by 'Chilli Girl' in 2016 who fastidiously cared for the car during nearly 5 years of ownership.

I purchased the car in late 2020, during my ownership over the last 2 years, I have driven the car approx 3k miles (it only comes out of the garage on high days and bank holidays). I have kept up the cars perfect service record where Foxy was afforded a Full Service in Nov 2021 at 67776 miles - this included change of all the usual oils & filters plus a change of transmission oil & brake fluid by a highly regarded Toyota Independent garage.

Service history
At 69K the car has averaged approx. 4K miles PA and has a very comprehensive service history, 16 service stamps each backed up by invoices/receipts for all work completed providing provenance of the cars exemplary upkeep.

As the saying goes 'a car is only as good as its former keeper' therefore every credit is due to all 3 of it's former owners as they clearly looked after the car with a great deal of care.

I really hope that Foxy will be purchased by a forum member as she is without doubt a future classic  and should be looked after as such.

MOT due in Nov 2022 as is Foxy's next service - both of which will be done when the time comes, that said I am open to sensible offers between now and then.

This is a great great car and not many left with this terrific full service history - a truly very honest 2 (I'm sorely tempted to buy it back) but it would mean my bike would definitely have to go! :o

Same here Mick, only one picture, the others won't open, but, there seems to be some problem with the Forum site and pictures, see chit chat!

Use imgbb for your photos.

Ive added a few more pictures into imgbb but not sure why they are not displaying correctly on the advert.

Dependant upon the "size" of the photo and the speed of your internet you may be trying to do too much.
Try one picture at a time, into the one reply box.

Is it though? If the rest of the car is as good as that beautiful paintwork, then 5 grand is a steal. If I was looking to buy an MR2, then I'd be thinking seriously about yours. Mine is a '52 PFL with 67,000 miles and, although the red paintwork has seen better days and there's very little paperwork/history, I wouldn't entertain less than £4,000 (maybe more as I have a HT).

Thanks for the feedback, I agree with you in that I think Foxy may currently be underpriced but we are approaching the winter months hence the sensibly priced comment  :)

Thanks again @Joesson I've tried to add 1 at a time however it doesn't appear to work so I've uploaded all the pictures to imgbb so if you click on the 1 picture in the advert it should take you to the MR2 album on imgbb.

Oh god - she looks gorgeous - why the hell did I ever sell her?  Will I ever learn? No! :'(

Foxy does indeed look gorgeous Jane, you can see she has been very well cared for since you sold her to me.

I'm getting itchy feet @Mickemo - would those headlights come up well I wonder? ;)

Foxy's headlights are pretty good (I think) for her age, a lot better than many I've seen - see new pic

Ha you know you're never going to find another like her Jane :-) 

If she hasnt sold by end Nov, I'll prob delay her MOT & Service and she will be put up to rest in the garage over the winter.

I'll then MOT & service her in the spring ready for the new owner (with a Spring price adjustment)

Great thanks. Quite fussy on paint so interested to see a few more pics ref colour match etc. But does look nice.

You'd be very hard to find one in better condition, that's for sure but I think @Mickemo maybe waiting until the Spring to sell now.

Given this time of year not being the best to sell a convertible I decided to defer the MOT and Service until Spring 2023 and have now SORNed Foxy (now in my garage).

I am open to servicing and MOTing Foxy sooner though for the right price & buyer.

I completely agree with Carolyn ref to viewing the car, it's the only way you know if it's right for you.

As a point of reference, Im very fussy and very thorough when buying cars and I purchased her from @Chilli Girl for the full asking price, the only time I have ever done that.

Viewing is tough as Im up in Liverpool. My last car (golf gti mk5) I bought via pics and a walk around video. I kept the car 3 years. I got the car transported as the distance was an issue.
