Title: 2004 yellow fl 47k
Post by: puma2 on March 13, 2024, 08:15
:'( sad times now and very little use of 2 forces my discussion on this thread.

hopeing to find a new owner  on here and will be willing to wait if they need to sell 1st providing deposit paid 1st.
so that it will give people a chance to get  it with a time frame.

i pick this up from a member on here just below 18k in about September 2012.

it was garaged then and has been all its live with me hence the condition plus the service  history of this car although  some paper was not complete by mr2 specialists.

just had a full and complete  service and 12 month including fresh anti freeze, gearbox oil plus under seal work.

service and mot very year come mot time and paper work to back this up.

so at this time looking for any interest in this.

it will come complete with the following and not selling separate.

Hard top and kit in  black in good condition.

the original stock wheels had 18k on them. they have tyres on them.

the full set of original brake calliper's plus some rear spare 1s.

the rear number plate and bits to make it stock again if you don't like the rear plate.

anything else that own for the 2 like full luggage set as well that i find will all go with the sale.

not the best sale thread but hard to type as crying doing this and see the keyboard.

asking for all in for £8000 for this  rare yellow face lift and not many in this condition 2.

@puma2

With my increasing number of years it becomes less likely for me to be surprised at the actions of others, but with this I am completely taken aback.
Following your recent report of a MOT and service I thought you were ready for another year of fun.
However, I can empathise as this year I have found it difficult to equate the cost of keeping a cherished vehicle that I seldom use. I will say that I did overcome those thoughts and have reinsured and am about to re tax my car.
Whatever your reasoning I do hope you will be content and wish you good luck with the sale.

So sorry you're having a rough time.  Life doesn't get any easier as we get older, does it?

This year will probably be my last with my MR-S.

Nothing is forever.

Paul hasnt mentioned the a/c, the TTE exhaust, genuine bodykit, ceramic coating and zunsport grilles either.

I think its safe to say that this car has always been a club favourite at meets, it just looks so right and it is rare to see a FL yellow. Someone is going to get a great car!

Here's hoping external events change for you in the near future, and that will allow you to reconsider your decision.

So even though I will write glws. I hope events turn out rather differently for you, such that you can once more enjoy your magnificent yellow '2'

Sad to see your hand has been forced, echoing above comments do hope your circumstances change for the better to allow you to keep your pride and joy.
Strong money but also strong value here in a beautiful yellow example.
Hope you achieve your desired outcome.

I'm not allowed a third mr2 otherwise I'd jump on this.

no it has been treated twice with under seal and touched up again last month on the service  for mot.
Nathan at MR Twos did the work and checked subframe as well and said all good there and no issues

Terribly sad to see that you are selling your pride and joy.

It's a beautiful car, fastidiously maintained, and is a credit to you sir.

I think that it's priced entirely appropriately.

Good luck with the sale, though I secretly hope you get to keep it.

:'(  :'( just some more info on this since covid finished and lockdown open up.

it had a new roof done by South West Roadsters the finish on this, from what other people say is a lot better than a Swansea job. the mohair    is a better quality one he used

4 new shocks fitted all round just for a refresh no other reason.

all new callipers all round and have been painted matt black just like the wheels with new yellow pads fitted fitted front and back with upgraded HEl brake lines as well. its got a cracking handbrake action and hold well with zero worries there.

upgraded car speakers and sound proofing done on doors (forgot the name of them French company i think)

Falken ze310  tyres fitted all round std fl size

every year Gtechniq ceramic  paint protection 1st done by TI22 ( Chris harris personal detailer)
i only take the car out in the dry and the odd times its every been caught in the rain it beads up lovely and looks good . roof had been done as well.

i got the Black hard top locally after not  long after getting the yellow 2.never used only to get home with cover.

this 2 has got into many conversions by outstanding condition and stands out from the crowd and been to few meets on this forum and what others say is extremely good condition  outside and underneath plus the interior std    there apart from cd/radio.

just some background on the 2 and money was happily spent on this in my ownership.
the next person will be the 4th owner.

the 1st person to own this as the story was told to me.
main dealer sell to doctor in the Swinton area for his wife. wife did not like it and 1 year only 500mile only.

the 2nd owner was a member here and after i lost my black one (god Bless her) they got a new car and sold the  2 to me. me being 3rd owner for long time 2012. garage kept by 2nd and myself all its life.

hence why i want to go to another member on here to keep the story alive

Gosh it's absolutely stunning! All the very best with the sale, wish I'd tried here first, though mine's not in the same league as this, but will see if auction option works on Sunday.
Know how you feel - sad 😢

When the time comes for mine to go I'll get in touch Steve, although hopefully that won't be for many years yet ;D
I'm really sorry to hear you're thinking of letting your 2 go Paul, ... I know how much you love it.  I think you're asking a very fair price for it & you mustn't let it go for less.  It's the only yellow face lift I know of that has all the correct bodykit etc fitted & looks absolutely immaculate. Also, it's history and the way you've looked after it add to its value.  Maybe you can keep it until after National Day and bring it along to meet up with all your friends & fellow members....you might have 2nd thoughts 🤔  Keep in touch.

:(  :( car now advertised elsewhere and asking for £7500 however my insurance is due soon and i be wiling to let it to serious buyers to save me the payment so open to offers now.

I would rather sell it  with everything in 1 go and  give away all the bits i have with the car rather than do a separate sale say for the hardtop and other bits i have

I just noticed the window frame is black. Is that normal with a yellow model? It looks good with the black top. I half imagined it would be completely yellow.
