Title: SMT Error light
Post by: Anonymous on June 13, 2005, 10:48
s:( :( s:(  Car has been in hibernation for winter and when I take her out for the weekend she has an error light come on for the SMT gearing. I then had a devil getting the car to select gears and after a while she went. The pump still kicks in as soon as i get into it and there didn't seem to be any problems with the clutch before I put her to sleep for winter. Does anyone know if this is going to be expensive? Do i have to take her to a Toyota Main dealer? p.s. Toyota MRS V Spec SMT import, year 2000/1.

Low battery current? I guess I've read something about it.

You're welcome. Sorry for not being more specific, but I don't know much about the SMT.

I had a similar problem 6 months ago... Was in Tescos car park, tried to start her and she wouldn't go - flicked the gear shift button a few times while starting and then she went, but the EMS warning light then came on. Stayed on for the day, so went to my dealer - they plugged her in and said there was no fault and re-set the warning light - no problem since!!!! Glitch??
