Title: Fuel Gauge
Post by: tomato on May 17, 2024, 20:50
Anyone else have a very sensitive fuel gauge? Seems to fluxuate a lot on my 2, swinging often between a quarter of tank in variation.

Now immediately I live on a slop (either the passenger side or driver side will be lower) and when the car is facing 1 way or the other and it will swing, but it does seem very variable.

Suppose my key question is are they sensitive or is it one of those sensors given it age I should just replace or is it a bugger job so I should just suck it up 😄

What does it say when car is level.

If reporting different levels depending on which way parked. Suggests to me it's working.

It seems to have fuel in it when level 😀 trying to work out if it just is very sensitive or not, suspect it is.

The last quarter on the gauge is not very accurate and tends to drop very quickly.  Once it's down to just below that level, how you park will show a large effect.
