Has anyone found/made a tool to get in there to clean? I have big hands so there is no way I am getting a cloth in there. I would rather not have to unbolt it every time. Any ideas?
Not sure I understand what grill you mean.
Pic?
As I said boot might not be the correct term. I am talking about the sheet of metal under the grille in this pic

Power washer, or undo the 4 bolts and possibly some centre clips (I can remember exactly how its fixed in the middle|).
I did mine recently.
I unclipped/undid it, gave it a really good clean, then polished it, then waxed it.
Now that's all done, next time I come to cleaning the car, a good spray with the jet wash should see it clean up quickly and without taking it off again.
I was confused too. Engine cover, & tray underneath.
The original plastic fixings are a swine to remove. Sometimes there can be some spring-tension in it & so good-fitting clips are needed. A rubber washer or similar can be used to stop rattling between the metal parts.
I really don't think you can avoid removing it once in a while. As
@Gaz mr-s said, replace the plastic clips with center push types.
