Title: P0420
Post by: Newbie57 on June 18, 2024, 10:25
Ar is showing a P0420 code. Cat inefficiency. Sub frame was replaced recently so maybe the disturbance has cause a leak. Car did have an oil burn issue with its old engine that caused the same fault code.  That stopped happening with an engine change. (Same cat though). It's been ok for 5 years or so.
New cat time?
It's not burning oil now.

Cats do have a lifespan. If it's the original one that came with the car, it's probably past its best.

Cats2U

They also do a fitting kit.  The bolts and springs for the silencer end are fine, the crush rings for the manifold end are bobbins- best to get OEM from TCB Performance Parts.

I also recommend wrapping it for optimum performance.

The factor of x7 for a cat's life, unfortunately, does  not apply in this case!
