Title: OBD reader with ABS
Post by: paulj on June 30, 2024, 09:50
Do any of the android app code readers support ABS functions?  I have a standard ELM dongle and use the car scanner app but this will not read ABS problems.  Is there a version that works or do i need to get a "proper" wired OBD reader.  Thanks!

I might be wrong, but I suspect you'll need Techstream for abs use.  One way of getting it is via a f/book SMT group.

You can read ABS codes with a paperclip 📎

Thanks @Alex Knight that is great.  I remember the paperclip trick from older cars when the OBD was not standard and readable.  I know of both BMW and Mazda owners that used the jumper to see codes.  Didn't realise the functionality remained in newer OBD so will give it a go!
