Title: Arrow/indicator on rear top mount should point in which direction?
Post by: Bugster_MR2 on August 9, 2024, 18:57
Hey

I just removed my old rear shocks. The arrow pictured was pointing outwards. Is that correct?

@Bugster_MR2
Maybe I'm misunderstanding your question, but cannot see how that arrow could point outwards.

I've never noticed one before. Might it be pointing to where the flat of the 'D' is?

There looks to be a circlip next to it, perhaps it is used when they put the top mount together?

I have never heard it mentioned when talking about fitting the shock absorbers though so nothing to worry about when refitting your shocks.
