She was so lovely, pristine almost, but had a run-in with a T.I.R this morning. :'(
Luckily 99.9% of the damage is on the rear quarter panel with just a tiny, tiny mark on the door.

I doubt that the T.I.R noticed, let alone stopped to exchange details. What ever the scenario it will likely not bode well insurance wise for yourself, such is motoring life. J-spec will possibly have a replacement, perhaps even in the correct colour and at less than your insurance excess!

That's a bugger. Fortunately changing panels is not such a big job.
As the car is such a peach, you might want to have a replacement painted to match?

Actually he did stop. It was in town and slow speed. He was a young Polish guy and he was so apologetic. I followed him to our local truck stop where we had a good look at my car and his documents. Insurance is obviously a concern for both of us so we settled on £1000 cash and I drove him to an ATM.

At time of writing there is just enough time to buy a lottery ticket for tonight, despite an event to the contrary your stars have realigned.
What an absolute downer!
I've had a near identical accident many years ago in an MR2. Did they hit the rear wheel?
If so, in our case it was a very very low-speed hit on a small roundabout and the knuckle and strut were bent.
Panels are very easy and cheap to do, but make sure the car drives straight!
Oh and do not go through insurance. Ours was a highly modified, 2005, very low mileage car and they wrote it off without even looking at the accident. I DID get it covered by insurance in the end without a Cat, but more by accident and luck than anything else.

Everything looks and feels OK driving so pretty sure it's just the wing / quarter panel.

Huzzah!! A big inconvenience with having to sort it out but J-SPEC will do so and you'll be motoring happily again
£1k...!! Though you'd probably rather not have had the hassle.....
There's a silver pfl breaking in Dover on Marketplace.
J-spec will charge £95 delivery I believe. Your best bet is one you can drive & collect. Most common colour by far.

It wasn't that bad :D
Sorry to hear about your 2
@Pete McCue - I smashed the MR2
@shnazzle is talking about far worse than yours and it's back on the road driving better than ever. I'm sure you'll get it sorted. Just make sure you check underneath and get the alignment done.

Don't forget there are two shades of silver though.

I've got Josh looking out for a really nice one for me in the correct colour. Condition is the most important thing so if push comes to shove I'll pick up and get it sprayed.
:'( :'( sad news at least he was good and stopped and you got cash straight away.
now just the hassle for the parts and paint stuff :'( :'(
Get checked over 1st to make sure no other damage done what you can not see just to make sure.
good to see you your useing the club well :) :)
Thanks. Yes, this club seems great with a huge wealth of knowledge! I have donated. 🙂
I think you'll find most panels will have some ageing to the clearcoat. A perfect one will be next to impossible to source, I'm afraid.
I'm not trying to rain on your parade, it's just that having a fresh professionally matched paint job on the replacement panel will give the result you're looking for.
Well that's the knackered quater panel off, only took 45 mins. Inner body is in excellent condition. Replacement wing goes on tomorrow then off to the body shop to get it sprayed in.

Damn - that's one tidy car.
No stash of dog biscuits?
Just realised that I never wrapped this up. Well she's all back to her beautiful self, like it never happened. Wheels are now fully refurbished too, in dark gunmetal.

The bumper looks a bit mis-matched in the photo but looks fine to the eye. The paint was blended from the rear to halfway across the door.
They are gorgeous little machines aren't they?
Well done
Looks great
Well played

They really are!
I can't stay out of it. Took it for a spin the other afternoon as it was nice, just to keep things spinning over, arrived back home 70 miles later in the dark! :))
Just realised what a horrible picture of my wife the first post is too, she's much better looking than that really!! :))

Says a lot that I didn't even notice her in there haha
