Title: Drive lights with main beam
Post by: Craigjm on November 10, 2024, 23:40
Has anyone here rewired the front bumper drive lights so they come on with the main beam rather than through the individual switch?

I got the kit, but never installed.
It was meant for some LED DRL lights I never fitted.

The kit is meant to have them on when you turn the car on, and then dim them when the mains are on as per legal reqs.

Can't really use the fogs as DRLs. As they would blind oncoming traffic

I don't want to use them as DRL I want them to illuminate only when you use full beam

They're not driving lights, they're fog lights - to be used in fog?

Unless you replace them with spot lights, then they could be wired in to come on with main beam.

My understanding is that from 2003 Fog Lights  were fitted to the front bumper and as with all vehicle lighting Regulations apply, such as -Fog Lights are not be used with Main Beam

Good point I've just looked at the beam pattern they are fogs not drive lights
