I insured my car for up to 5000 miles when I bought it back in late August but I'm well over 2000 miles already! This thing is so nice to drive that I can't keep out of it! It doesn't have to be tearing around either, just driving normally is perfectly enjoyable. The driving position is just about perfect, I could drive all day no problem. It's not my main transport, it's just a plaything so I thought 5000 miles would be plenty but maybe not! 8) 8)
;D I had to do the same thing for the same reasons ;D Not just a toy for the summer, just great to drive all the time!
As per original post. Just a nice place to be.
I think I need to reduce mine. Insured for 2k miles and I did just over 700 :o
Now SORN'd for the first time, so could be less next year ;)
If you're doing under 2k miles then its worth looking at classic car insurance - especially if modified.
I looked at my MR2 MOT's and noticed
27 September 2019 86,696 miles
0ff the road due to covid
10 December 2021. 87,034 miles
23 December 2022. 89,025 miles
15 December 2023. 89,790 miles
:) you will not be the 1st person on here who has upped there mileage during there insurance period due to the fact the 2 is some much fun to take out all the time :)
for some long term members who can not forget Yellow Scotty who ending up going to nearly every mr2 event going in his 1st year had to do the same with his insurance.

Same here. Hate seeing a car not being used but sadly just don't get much opportunity to drive it. Problem is I can't see what I'd replace it with in future if I sold it at this point.
That.
What other 2 seater mid engine drop top is out there at this price point, that offers the fun, reliability etc etc that a 2 does.

I'd guess the MX5 would run it close but they're as common as muck! I considered the MX5 when I was trying to think of something to replace my Triumph T595 after it was written off but I've never been over keen on it's looks, (apart from the new one), and, as I say, they're very common.
Nor mid engined
Just back in from another 2 hour blast. It's wet and miserable but who cares!
(These are a wee bit skitty in the wet eh!). 8)
They need respect in wet conditions ;)
I'm piling the miles on mine. Been averaging 11k per year but a new job means a 75mile round trip commute so will be circa 15k a year from next year.
I can't think of anything else to replace it with that would still be fun and as cheap to run. Anything more suitable to the mileage will be bigger and harder on brakes/tyres etc and likely diesel which I don't want to go too. Keep them well maintained and they will go forever.

Need respect as per
@Chilli Girl and good tyres.
Have to say I prefer full wet conditions rather than that slippy slimy damp condition.
