Title: Lower Chassis Brace - Stocks....
Post by: Pete McCue on February 10, 2025, 15:04
Been looking at lower chassis braces, (centre & front), from both Barbarian Racing and Megillian Racing. Both sites are showing the centre braces as being out of stock and they have been for WEEKS! Neither company has responded to my e-mails either, what's up with these companies?? How long does it take to get fresh stock and why wasn't it ordered well before their existing stocks were exhausted? Grrr
Edit: Barbarian Front is out of stock.

Why run out of stock of an unessential item desired only by those with a fondness for an ageing vehicle?
Nobody has wanted a front brace for your vehicle for around 20 years so it's perhaps not unreasonable to expect some shortage of supply or only made to order condition.
Our local Tesco have been known to run out of their own brand butter!

Well they chose to manufacture and/or supply said ageing vehicles so they clearly think there's enough demand, and that doesn't excuse the total lack of response to an enquiry.

The demand is very low and they have to be made in batches to make it economical.

I know'cos I've made them and I've still got the jig.

And mine were the best of the lot.

Megillian have had poor service for a while and even been known to take payment and not supply the product ordered so id avoid them.

They seem to pop up on eBay occasionally; there's a Megillian lower front on there now that may be worth a look. Otherwise, I'm pretty sure Cusco still make all the braces, but they're not the beefiest in my experience.

@Pete McCue

Have you considered the braces that our Member @Snelbaard produces?

Thanks Kurt, I was in contact with the seller on e-bay and made an offer at the same price as Megillian sell them at but no luck.
