Title: Clutch Master Cylinder
Post by: valguss2001 on April 9, 2025, 17:25
Hi Guys

Me again, slowly going through things on the car that need work so making a few posts. This one is about the clutch master cylinder. Any one have any idea if there is a RHD and LHD version or are they all the same. Currently looking at: https://spareto.co.uk/products/lpr-master-cylinder-clutch/2551#nav-vehicles

Or if anyone has a better alternative, let me know

this is for part number 31410-17120

Thanks

Tom

You can have a look at the parts diagrams for the LHD and RHD cars:

RHD - 3141017110 (https://partsouq.com/en/catalog/genuine/unit?c=TOYOTA00&ssd=%24%2AKwFYbH1oCAcEWwsmMyNQCQAUNDMtXFNeX01iURkfLDgkICIhZHNfNRsfGyo8JTRyb2VYUSE_WBUCLkgfVUhRTjdIR04NEQcTFxUZBA4rF0xQVEVIUV5BSA0FChEHA1laXF5IR04HXR8bSFhdXVxdVExOQ1cDDywWSAgPTAkdA1haXV9ZW05CEx9IHklWTUg7LTxycANGS04ACUlWThFnez1YXD9HKicoYnV2SEdMTxwITlQTU1QGB0BNSA0FChEHAVtaEQAAAAD07fG9%24&vid=0&cid=2&uid=105063&q=)

LHD - 3141017120 (https://partsouq.com/en/catalog/genuine/unit?c=TOYOTA00&ssd=%24%2AKwHxxdSxpLai9ae09Ijr56m9nZqE9fr39uTL-LC2hZGNiYuIzdr2nLK2soOVjJ3bxszx-IiW8byrh-G2_OH4557h7uekuK66vrywraeCvuX5_ezh-Pfo4aSso7iuqvDz9ffh7ueu9Lay4fH09PX0_eXn6v6qpoW_4aGm5aC0qvHz9Pbw8ufrurbht-D_5OGShJXb2arv4uepoOD_57jO0pTx9Yjug46By9zf4e7l5rWh5_26-v2vrunk4aSso7iuqPq_AAAAADQqD2U%3D%24&vid=0&cid=2&uid=105063&q=)

The part numbers don't match.

Looking at the diagram of the master cylinder, it looks like it has a hydraulic pipe coming off its side, so it is not symmetrical. As LHD vehicles have the pedals on the other side of the car, that pipe needs to be on the opposite side. More than likely the two versions are incompatible.

You can rebuild your old master cylinder with a kit found on ebay. I have done that last year and can help with advice if needed.
