Got a couple of caliper questions..
Took off my rear calipers & carrier as purchased new rear calipers as one had a seized handbrake mechanism. There was a rubber boot on one caliper where the slider pin goes in but not on the other caliper, but slider pins on the carrier both sides also had a rubber boot attached, so to summarise one side had 2 rubber boots in total over the slider and the other had 1. Which is correct?
New rear calipers both have rubber boot already attached for where the sliper pin is inserted I am assuming this is all I need and the 2 boots is incorrect?
Second question, front caliper carriers actually have an L and R stamped on. L was on off/driver side. R on near/passenger side. Wasnt sure if it mattered too much as the carriers look mostly symmetrical apart from a slight difference to the metal clip on each side (or top/bottom when mounted on the car) that holds in the pads. Do these clips have a specific orientation?

As for the front the pad retaining clips do have a correct / incorrect position. Always best to photograph / make notes before disassembly. Ask me how I know. Even doing that it was a case of trial and error but once correctly positioned it was obviously correct.

Yes I know how they came off but seems previous owner didn't so wanted to make sure when I am reassembling it is to be done correctly!

??? Carriers markings L & R - left (near) side.
I believe the fronts are interchangeable but good practice to have the bleed valve towards the top.
You are correct on the 1 boot.
Just to add to this, the front caliper 'clips' I spoke about are also known as anti rattle shims. Whilst I have 2 very slightly different style shims on each front caliper carrier, they appear to do the same job so should be no orientation issues for me to worry about!
