Title: Roof Wrap!
Post by: steve807 on July 3, 2025, 21:14
With my hard top now being on for at least half the year (especially as car is not garaged), thought it should look as good as it can.  Wanting to change the look but also wanting to retain the original Sable base colour, wrapping seemed the way to go.  Found a really good wrap shop through our driving club and took the plunge today.  In some lights, the change is very subtle but in others, it comes alive  8)  ;D

It seems to better accentuate the lines and curves of what is already one of the best ever looking removal hard tops out there

(For those interested in details, it's a 3M Colour Flip Satin Volcanic Flare.)

I quite like the colour and satin finish combination with your gloss sable..
The satin finish also seems  to be an option for some new model cars, a finish I  don't recall from the past.
I have preferred  a satin finish to a gloss  finish for the woodwork in our house for many years but I am on the fence for all over car bodywork finish.
I've never been a Sunday morning car polisher but I wonder what those think of the new trend?

Agree with you on satin finishes for woodwork  ;)   I have also noticed the trend for matt and satin finishes, especially in what appears to be almost military style greys and greens. Can look good on some vehicles if you are going for an aggressive or menacing look >:D

As for the Two, still really like the gloss sable and would not want the satin wrap or matt paint across the whole body.
