Title: TTE Bar Fitting
Post by: Hawko on July 21, 2025, 22:01
Picked up a used TTE style bar recently and thought nice little job for tonight should only take about an hour tops.

Well the bar is on but the trim, Grrrrrrrr.  I cut using the template and fettled a bit, but the problem is getting the trim seals in.  I have cut the trim back nearly to the edge but didn't want to break it out as it's likely to look crap.  It seems the bar is just a couple of mm to close to the edge on either side.  I'm assuming the seals are correct, think they are labelled something like 48 2 inch on them which kind of makes sense as the bar is 48mm dia.

Left it alone for tonight before something got the treatment!

Would like to know if this has been the same for others fitting the bar and what they have done, or if mine is different.

Looks like it's not my day, I can't get the picture link to share. I'll see if I can upload something later.

TIA

Yep, I struggled.  A mod I did make was to slice the grommet.  So there's only the 'top' remaining.  I'm impatient with jobs like that though...... ::)

Thanks for confirming.  That was kind of what I was resigning myself to as well.
