Good afternoon all. Having left my car parked in Sainsburys car park with the roof down, I came back to the car and tried to set the alarm off, just to check it was working as it's never gone off. Couldn't get it to go off, no matter what I did. When I got home I looked in the Toyota Repair Manual and it doesn't even mention an alarm and nor does the handbook. From what I've read the sounder should be under the spare wheel frunk so I removed that to see but there's no sign of any sounder or wiring anywhere. Also, I can't find any fuse for an alarm. It's a y2k car and it is UK registered so I thought it should have an alarm no? It has a flashing light on the switch panel.
Nothing to see here:

The sounder normally sits under the spare in the frunk, not under the frunk.
Possibly removed as some have if not repositioned. I've removed mine. But left the wiring.
A lot of early UK cars came in as grey imports due to demand, alarms would normally be fitted at point of official entry into the Uk.
One of mine is the same, probably Channel Islands or similar, the flashing LED is for the immobiliser and that's separate to the alarm anyway.
I'm guessing there must be ultrasonic or volumetric sensors somewhere in the cabin too, but can't find anything.
If the sounder is not there, piss the sensors to.
The control unit is hidden somewhere around the tunnel and bins etc. (I think)
The control box for the oem, fitted on entry alarm is behind the carpet behind the driver's seat. Or passenger, can't remember which and mine didn't have it anyway.
