I dont know if this is normal but i discovered last night that my break lights always come on (if i press the pedal!) even when the key isnt in the ignition. Thought it might be some kind of capacitance effect to start with but tried it this morning and its the same. Is this normal or have I got some dodgy wiring?
Think this is normal on most cars

I can't belive I've never noticed it before s:oops:  s:oops:
I'm going to check every car I travel in now to find out if its normal, I just can't belive that after 12 years of driving a variety of cars this is the first time I noticed it. So far i've tested a VW Passat and yep the break lights come on with ignition off.
LOL, is that your new mission in life rage?
Checked my new ford focus, and its the same as the old one, the lights come on with the keys out.
Doesnt happen in a Renault Megan Coupe as i got my mate to try it last night.
Being the sad Tw*t that i am checked a few cars over the wekend and it seems the majority of cars will light the break lights with out the key in the ignition. You learn somehting new every day.
