Picked up the new Ratmobile today from a fellow member on here ;D
Very happy as she's in immaculate condition and favourite colour.
First job is to fit a smaller steering wheel.
I'm 6ft 3 inches and the wheel really gets in the way when braking and have to brake with the side of my foot.
Thinking 300 or 320mm with a flat bottom design.
Also need to bring the wheel out about 100-120mm from standard.
Does anyone know if boss spacers alone would achieve this distance or will I need a deep dish wheel instead........or both?
Like the 320mm wheel below but it's not a deep dish so no idea how many spacers can be added to a boss.

You had me worried with the "ratmobile" title. I was expecting to see a ratted out MR2 & imagining the collective sharp intake of breath from the group :))

looking very good for a Ratmobile its the way they drive is the fun bit plus all the conversations the 2 will get into asking all sorts of questions 8) 8)

Me too! Having been around the Beetle scene many years ago, I thought it might be an interesting look for an MR2... nice to see such a clean one instead though. :)

Gave her an oil service & air filter change.
Thank god I listened to 'Ardent's advice about it taking 3.7L as spotting the level on the dip stick with clean oil seems impossible with these cars 🤔.
So carefully put in exactly 3.7L.
Had enough daylight to fit the arm rest too.
Needed a deep arm rest so that the heated seat switches could fit underneath it.
It worked a treat and so much nicer during the twilight drive afterwards 😁

Nicely done. I never actually managed to get mine installed.
I have 2 spare arm rests IF others have seen this and want to give it a go. FOC for ROC'RS 😆

I found an old thread on here which was very helpful as it showed which arm rests others had used and one particular post from a guy had some good photos of how he fitted his.
I used a slightly modified version of what he did.
Kit required;
1 x Rover 45 armrest
1 x narrow steel plate cut to 87mm long
2 x self tapping screws
