Title: Aircon gas port and removal of front plastics
Post by: Craigjm on November 7, 2025, 11:00
I need to sort my aircon out. I took the spare wheel out today and for the first time realised thats where the alarm is! In what order do I need to disassemble things as I tried taking the bin out but it appears I need to take the rest of the plastics off too. What is the best tool to get those clips out with the press centre? is that all that is holding it in? Looks like loads of them are missing also so where can i buy them from? Assuming once the plastic is off and the bin out the port is easy located? assume the alarm is just on a plug that can be unplugged once the plastic is off.

Hope that makes sense. If anyone has a pic of their car with the plastic all off that would be great to see

A small screwdriver should do the trick.

There are tons of substitute ones available on line.  Just get the correct diameter.  I use the ones with a button in the middle that pop pry up with a small flatblade drive.  I'd get enough to replace the lot plus a few spares as the little buggers have a tensdency to disappear when being clipped out.

The plastic surround is all that needs to come out.  You will also discover the bleed points for your coolong system and, possibly, even the plastic tubes to use when bleeding.

It will be a voyage of discovery.  You will also find a few bits that could use a spot of rust tratment and paint.
