Title: Brake master cylinders
Post by: moca2cv on February 26, 2026, 01:58
Does anyone know of a source for either new MCs or rebuild kits? I can only find LHD units new.

Has anyone fitted an alternative MC?

Want to avoid going down the pedal box route if I can. TIA

A rudimentary search on the www lists as available via eBay at one end of the scale of price and MR2 Ben at £251 at the other end of the scale.
I would also try the guy in Somerset or down South there somewhere a one time affiliate  whose name I cannot remember , something like TCP !

Thanks. You might be confusing with the clutch master. MR2 Ben sells a clutch master at £251 but not a brake master. EBay is all second hand. TCB, Amayama, PartSouq - all not available. I don't know if there's a magic stash of brand new MCs hidden somewhere, but damned if I can find it.

I am very much confusing a clutch master with a brake master cylinder!
My specific search for brake master came up with a clutch master on MR2 Ben.
My search was more rudimentary than I intended. My apologies.
Have you spoken with the guy at TCB? He is usually helpful and may share some insight as to when or where the Master cylinder would be available.

That kind of thing, yes, though that's for an AE86... I can't imagine they're the same. I think I need to find myself a spare unit and pull it apart and measure up. Perhaps there's something out there the right size...

I would think a 2001- 2005 Yaris would be the same diameter.  The rubber internals might be the same?

The front of this Celica one looks very similar:

Getting close with the Yaris/Celica one! Different bores as far as I can tell, but might at least work as a new replacement... I may have to get one: https://www.bestpartstore.co.uk/7794246-abs-brake-master-cylinder
