Title: Rear quarter removal
Post by: Newbie57 on April 30, 2026, 20:46
Is there a guide to taking off the rear quarter?
Drivers side is a little scabby and I bought a good one a while ago. My main concern is the bolts near the hard top. I don't want to drill out the spot welds.

@Newbie 57
I am not aware of a How To but  Iiirc other Members have referred to the need to drill out the spot welds.
@Ch33zy has recently removed, for sure, the near/ passenger side rear quarter panel while doing his engine conversion, so he likely has the most recent experience of removing a very similar panel.

The spot welds have to go, I'm afraid.

Otherwise it's very straightforward.

I replaced my passenger side rear wing without drilling out any welds, not sure if the driver's side is any different. I just eased out the internal trim and you can get to the bolts quite easily. When you're done you just tuck the trim back under the rubber. Very straightforward.
