Title: Zunsport Grille set
Post by: MisterK on June 15, 2026, 22:29
After meeting Andyroo at the MR2 National meet up, I was lucky enough to buy a set of engine cover Zunsport Grilles from him to nearly complete my set...I only need the air intake Grilles now.

18 months ago I bought the rear bottom set from 'E' to complete the look of my rear end.  I'd bought new the front grille in 2007 and then the upper rear grille in 2012 from Zunsport.

However, I think the rear would look even better if there is a grille below the number plate rather than a section of black plastic.  My car is fitted with the standard OEM number plate & holder & I don't want to fit a square number plate to try & solve the problem...I personally don't like that look  :o

So, I've contacted Zunsport to see if I can get a bespoke piece of grille made...I'll keep you posted on how I get on.  I've also asked if the side vent Grilles are still available....you never know.

I love the Zunsport Grilles & thanks to Andyroo & 'E' for helping me to get the look I want.

The times I get bird pooh in there which is hard enough to clean out let alone cleaning a grill too.

@MisterK

When everything is as neat as it is. That bit below the plate just let's the side down.

A full width grill would have been nice.

I get the sense where they finish, they expect a square ish to be used.

A good point well made @Ardent .
The rectangular plate covers much of the mesh and the bottom section of the plate mounting is obtrusive!
A square/ish plate sized to suit the available mounting would reveal the mesh and cover the mounting plate (as intended?)

Well guys, initially Zunsport said the area was too small to make anything.  I then suggested it could be a piece say 6" square & most of the grille would be under the numberplate mount with only the bottom part on view.  They came back & agreed to do that but at £200, plus they'll need the car to measure etc, I've decided to leave it for now.

I'm still on the lookout for the Zunsport side intake grilles if anyone has a set lying around...Zunsport don't produce them anymore

I had the idea of a mesh grille for the hvac vent in front of the windscreen as it's the only spot that currently doesn't get the Zunsport treatment. I bought some raw mesh from them to make my own and of course never did anything with it. Potentially you could do the same with the back of yours!

£200 they are avin a laugh.

They are not interested hence stupid price.

You could fashion your own full width section for less than that.

You could even then sell the 2 bits to offset the cost.
