Title: Help! Raspy Exhaust and pops and Bangs at low rpm
Post by: Tomr2 on June 18, 2026, 20:30
Hi All I am currently in France with no tools or diagnostic equipment.

I am assuming that it's a miss fire or exhaust issue.

The car is acellerating ok and at higher RPM the noise seems to go away at least I can't hear it

It started as a ticking noise on acceleration and has progressed to a raspy Exhaust and ticking noise and at gentle  acceleration with lots of pops at lower rpm.

Any ideas or anything I can do with minimal tools I was going to try unplugging and plugging the coil packs.

But if that fails planning to drive home on Saturday regardless as the car drives fine just annoying noises

Thank Carolyn I am glad I am thinking the same as the oracle when it comes to these cars.

I will just wait until I get back home and can have a real look.
