Title: DRL Fogs and horn
Post by: Double Zero on July 16, 2026, 09:48
I'm getting a bit fed up of not being seen by other drivers seems to happen more in the MR2 than any of the other cars I drive.

Has anyone used a recent fog light DRL kit I have seen that Vinster are good but was wondering if there is a slightly cheaper option as I don't really use my car in the rain if can be helped.

What has everybody replaced their horn with I had to use the horn in anger and it really doesn't cut it.

As the bumper is coming off to do the fog lights I might as well do the horn at the same time.

Any advice for a better sounding horn?

I haven't replaced mine. It seems plenty loud enough.

It's more a warning I was after the horn seems a little high pitched

Any suggestions for DRL's for fog lamps has anyone used any of the cheaper Chinese options

I fitted Hella twin tone horn kit. Both horns bolted into original horn mounts.

As for DRL lights I fitted Ring items.

Thank you I've got a face lift so ideally want to replace the dogs.

I will look at the horn

Like you, I had a few near misses with people not seeing me, so  I fitted the Ring horizontal DRL's. I then obtained a set of the circular combined DRL/ LED fogs from someone who was supplying them on the forum, although it was probably 10+ years ago.  Really pleased with the results & it's made a massive difference to the cars visibility...I've had no issues since they've been fitted.I find the horn OK...it's certainly louder than mist new cars these days  :)

My horn is a really deep blast and I'm sure it's the original

I was in a situation where a new Range Rover was in front of me and put car in reverse, thought it was going drive right over me. Beeped the original toy town horn but don't think it heard me. I think the the cars auto braking kicked in or he saw me in the camera and he stopped. Scared me though!

Bought kit below and I now have a horn that actually works  8)
