Title: Glovebox!!!
Post by: Anonymous on July 5, 2005, 13:10
Does anyone know if the glovebox can be disassembled in any way or are they all moulded in one piece.

Just got a second hand one of ebay due to mine having some nice scratches and chunks in it (from the previous owner).

Obviously the problem I have is the new one will have a different lock on it. Just wondered if there's an easy way to swap, either swap the whole lock or maybe somehow you can just change the front panels.

seems to be too much hassle (hey, i'm lazy)

The lock is easily removed - IIRC (dont have a '2 anymore) remove the inner liner (couple of screws) and the lock mechanism can then be removed complete.

I know this is possible as I changed the lock on mine when my car was replaced by Toyota and I had allready fixed the car-kit to the old one,

It's pretty easy to change the lock to work with your keys as well, you can find the info with search  s;) ;) s;)

(though I'm sure it's easier to change the lock)
