Title: Chip marks/rust on bonnet
Post by: StephenBennett on July 11, 2005, 14:12
Hi all

My 18 month old MR-2 has a couple of chips on the bonnet. It looks like there's rust under there - or am I looking at primer?

Anyway, do you guys think this is a bodywork warranty repair?

Regards

Stephen

if its just a chip to the primer you'll see a whitish colour, if its rust it'll be orangy/brown, either way good luck, mr.T can be an arse on this one

Never tried MrT, but the usual warranty is for rust coming UP through the metal / body. They won't touch dings etc coming from the outside.

If you don't feel confident DIY there is a franchise called "chips away". Stands outside our Homebase.

I've never used them , but I am told they are quite good. Google will probably find them.
