Hi,
Ever since buying my '51 reg car second hand the driver's side seatbelt has required a single twist in it (usually across my chest!) in order to plug in correctly. No idea how it got this way round. s:? :? s:?
Anyway, was thinking i could just unbolt the fixing point down near the bottom of the door sill and turn it round but the clip has a certain 'sticking out' quality that means it has to stay that way round (and currently matches the passenger side which is fine). So i was wondering whether it was possible to change the way round the belt comes out of the mechanism behind the seat/ inside the luggage compartment, or whether all that gubbins was a blackbox not to be touched for safety reasons s:?: :?: s:?:
One of those annoying niggles, only for its "how'd it get that way" nature s:!: :!: s:!:
Thanks,
Steve
pass on how it got that way, but yeah just undo it and turn it around, easier than going to Mr.T
p.s. like the list of mods, especially the GF hairband s:lol:  s:lol: s:lol:  s:lol: s:lol:  s:lol:

I did that (as i noticed a twist on my way to a service) and somehow they managed to make the twist in the driver's side worse and add one to the passenger side. s:roll:  s:roll:

Think she wants a handbrake built into the passenger door grip bar next - the way she clasps it sometimes!
minw had one across my chest and was well anoying, folded the seatbelt over and forced it through the buckle so its now the right way round over my chest (only prob now is that its twisted by my lap!! s:? :? s:?

Exactly, i thought it would be a simple case of turning the buckle round but that just shifts the problem elsewhere.
Don't want to go messing about with the seatbelt mechanism too much (in case of, er, "switching it off" s:shock:  s:shock: ) but if its a simple get in the back there and turn it round then i'll have a go.
I had the same problem on the passenger side. If you take off the trim that covers the belt where it dissapears into the body of the car, you can get to the buckle and untwist it.
havent tried, putting up with it down there at the mo as its hardly noticable might fget round to "fixing" it one day!

Just open the bolt, turn the seatbelt around and put the bolt back s;) ;) s;)
If you don't know where it is, just follow the seatbelt s;) ;) s;)
cheers just gotta get round to doing it, got a few more important jobs first (precats as its got 35000miles on the clock!) s:? :? s:? s:roll:  s:roll:

I'll save myself 1minute * 8.7 (Universal stupidity factor s:roll:  s:roll: s:!: :!: s:!: ) at the weekend then.
Thanks for the info,
Steve
