Recently my handbrake has been getting worse as it just rolls down my drive.
Ive read up on a few handbrake Topics and am wondering if its easy to adjust?
Yeah, i could do with an answer to that. Current solution is to leave it in gear s:wink:  s:wink:
There's this:

But all there really is is two cables and an adjuster underneath the centre console. It's obvious when you've removed the console (he says having never tried to actually adjust it!).
Of course, geting at the four screws for the centre console is a pain with the seats in place, but that's it - four screws and unscrewing the gear knob.
EDIT: that's assuming you haven't got some other problem like a sticky brake caliper. Mine's going in on friday (for the fourth time of reporting this problem, and the second in 6 weeks). Different dealership this time, so I'm cautiously optimistic.
had it done 2day at my local garage..they checked all my brakes, pads etc and just tightened the handbrake and they charged me £25
Well, mine's in again today. The different dealer has diagnosed (bearing in mind this is after two sets of visits to the first dealer who said it was all ok just a few short weeks ago):
Complete set of handbrake cables (no idea why - stretched / binding?)
1 x New rear caliper (old one is seized).
Also, the squeak from the clutch pedal has been found. It's not just a case of greasing up the pedal (as has been done twice before - first dealership) but requires a replacement clutch fork. Gearbox out s:shock:  s:shock:
I am *so* glad that it's still under warranty (just). Fingers crossed for this evening.
Well, my faith in dealerships is restored. Not only does the handbrake actually hold the car on just about any incline, but it will actually noticably slow the car if applied whilst coasting. It is at least as good as new, if not better s:D :D s:D
And the clutch feel is also much improved and no nasty squeaks from the pedal. Kudos to Brooklyn in Worcester. I shall be using them again, even if they didn't clean my car for me s:P :P s:P (I guess gearbox removal and rear brake assembly replacement was enough for one day)
