Title: Aeri-hell!
Post by: Anonymous on August 23, 2005, 11:56
Emma's insisting that I organise an aerial for the '2 that doesn't jam and make horrible noises. Looked at an old post for converting the aerial setup to a bee-sting but it wasn't cheap and the guy making the kits has stopped making any more for a while.

Anyone got any suggestions? My ear's getting bent like Uri Gellar bends spoons!   s:lol:  s:lol:

No ideas I am afraid, however I NEVER listen to the radio so just cut the black wire at the back of the radio - now no more radio controlled car look for me   s8) 8) s8)   and I don't have to put up with the noisy bugger when changing cds!

Go to spyderchat. I just bought the converstion kit and new short aerial for the car. I am so chuffed, no more gratting noise etc.

Brilliant mod.

I disconnected the power to the leci aerial so it doesn't go up and down but still receives a signal. Its fine where I live, but I have been to places where the reception is not as good.

Worth a go for free though I thought   s:wink:  s:wink:

I have an actual S2000 base and aerial.  You can probably get one from a breakers.

There is a little wiring involved!

as already mentioned, then you can get a shorter ariel from lord takuban over on spyderchat, or just get a s2000 type bee sting jobbie.

I'll have a look for the part number of the electric > manual conversion kit to see if it can be ordered over here...
