Title: Urgent : Need 2003 and Unichip plug wiring diagrams
Post by: BenF on August 27, 2005, 17:06
Just been doing some work on the car, and I found that the Unichip and boost sensor module were not secured and were loose in the bottom of the passenger cubby hole   s:shock:  s:shock:    s:evil:  s:evil:    s:evil:  s:evil:    s:roll:  s:roll:   I'll be having a long 'chat' to Millway about that.

I secured them with gaffer tape, but noticed one of the wires and pins had come free from the Unichip plug and was dangling loose  s:( :( s:(

I taped the modules down, and insulated the end of the wire .... but now the car doesn't start at all.

So - does anyone have a 2003 ECU pinout diagram, a Unichip installation digram (I need to see where the connected pins in the plug go) and in particular, info on a wire in the ECU loom - a black wire with a red stripe ?

I'm really hoping I can work out where the 'spare' wire goes back into the Unichip plug, and get the car running again, especially before the Elvington Trackday next Saturday.

Roger - BIG thanks for that. (http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/images/smiles/icon_thumright.gif)

Have found that the wire that has been pulled out is a switched +12v feed from a Black/Red wire in the ECU loom - so basically there's no power getting to the Unichip - this would explain why the engine isn't running.
(Hmm, I thought the Unichip would have failed 'safe' but obviously not)

Edit : just found a Unichip wiring diagram on a site, and have replaced the the 12V wire back into the correct hole in the Unichip connector  .... after some major spluttering and coughing the Roadster is running again   s:D :D s:D

I'm just off out to drive some twisties to 'check' its all OK
