Title: Rear window demister on soft top not working
Post by: Anonymous on October 10, 2005, 14:48
Ive had a search but cant find anything about this....

Basically, Ive had my hard top off of the car for a few days and had the soft top on it instead.

I cant get the rear window heater on the soft top to work so I was wondering if I am meant to plug the hard top cable in somewhere or even unplug it altogether to make the soft top heater work?
any help would be appreciated

You need to disconnect the hardtop cable from the connector behind the plastic in the storage bin, and connect the soft top cable which will be dangling in there.

I found mines all tangled up in the soft top the other day, you should be able to find the cable amongst it somewhere if you take the hardtop off and have the soft top semi-up. due to the inclement weather here at the moment, i doubt that you will get a chance in a hurry though.

Oh and as for the hardtop cable, i think im gonna rewire a little and just use a SPDT switch to flick between the hardtop and soft top to save too much messing around when I want to change between H/T and soft top.

cheers for all the help,
Richie.
