Title: Body repair
Post by: Anonymous on October 26, 2005, 12:33
Does anyone know of a good paint sprayer in the Greater Manchester area, had my car scraped in the car park and whoever did it did not leave any info, so have to sort it myself.

It's not dinted or anything just seemed to have brushed the paint of it in a small area, hence needing a paint sprayer.

Also the car is only 6 months old so do I have to go to a Toyota garage with it so I don't lose my warranty?     s:cry:  s:cry:

I don't reckon there are any warranty issues, so you could go to any old "under the arches", but make sure they are recommended first.

If you can't get a recommendation Toyota IMO would be your next port of call. Not all Toyota garages do their own work. Might get a better price direct with their preferred supplier (phone, yellow pages etc). At least they will be Toyota approved.

Depending on how bad, where it is and who you use, you could be talking of at least £150 and always worrying about a colour mismatch. Presumably its too bad for the likes of ScratchX or other scratch mender?

try chips away a few people from work have used them and my grandad has had them on my recommendation, cant see a mark paint match is perfect and they come to you, and i have heard from a few places they are cheaper than going to a garage anyway. As they are a franchise business your results may vary but i know if i had any probs with my car they would be my first port of call.

Thanks for the help need to get it done, its not to bad at all my son had a look and says its only the paint thats scuffed. But you know what it's like I hate the idea of a mark on it, said a few swear words when I got to the car park believe me. Shall start ringing round after work.

Be aware - ChipsAway is a franchise, so quality can vary from franchisee to franchisee..

I recently used Chips away for a very small scuff on the rear bumper arch. It cost £110 + Vat  s:? :? s:?

They haven't contacted me yet and the number they gave me no one seems to answer so i might go to RRG see what they say, if they don't contact me soon. That life would ever be simple, but it never is.  s:D :D s:D
