Hi everyone. Im 6ft 2" and i am having real difficult getting my seat settings correct. Im trying to stop the lower back pains. tingling feet syndrome and im also very consious about keeping my head below the top of the chair too incase it rolls!.
What seat configurations have you guys all gone for?
Did you find it difficult getting comfortable? i have had my car for a total of 3 weeks now in my posession after it being repaired from a read ender and i just can't seem to get it right! s:) :) s:)
Hi, I'm 6'2" too, but have no problems.
I have my seat all the way back on the runners and as low as it will go on the seat height adjustment.
The seat back angle is then as far back as it will go then forward one notch, so that it doesn't rub on the plastics behind the seat and make really irritating squeaky noises as you drive along.
I've driven with my seat like this for the year and a bit I've had my car, over long and short trips and have had no problems with back pain at all.
But then I am 23 s:wink:  s:wink:
Im only 25 myself, maybe quarter of the century is where you start getting problems s:? :? s:?
I don't think you have to mind about you head being higher than the seat's top or not.
because if you roll and land on the wrong side, your head WILL be higher than the seat s:? :? s:? the seat will shrink under the weight... almost as quickly as the windshield.
you should find the best driving position for every minute you spend in the car instead of thinking of a potential crash... s:wink:  s:wink:
for that, drivers seat is easy to adjust in height. try to keep at the right distance from the wheel. try not to lean it too much, usually it makes the trip easier...
Thanks for your comment,
I was only joking about the rolling thing at the end of the day all crashes are about a number of factors which mostly you cannot control.
However my main concern is about getting the seating position comfortable.

Then half century must be where they go away.
I'm 52 and 6'2", set my seat the same as MR 2 (except that I don't have leather so don't need the 1 notch forward to avoid squeaking), and don't have any problems.
And instead of keeping your head down when you roll the car, just don't roll it. s:) :) s:)

6'2" me too! I do exactly the same and I'm nearly 40! No problems, although I often have difficulty getting the zimmer frame out of the passenger side s:wink:  s:wink:
s:) :) s:) He he
Going to try and whack it all the way back then. I normally have it one notch forward on the bottom rail and the back one notch from the storage bins. s:) :) s:)
Cheers for advice guys

Great minds (or backs s:) :) s:) ) must think alike. I'm in my 40s and 6'2" and I do exactly the same thing that you both do: seat all the way back, seat bottom low and seat back reclined almost all the way back.

I'm only 5'8", so I don't think this is necessarily altitude related. Do you keep your wallet in your back pocket? I do, and occasionally get pins'n'needles in my feet and legs, or back or leg ache if my seating position isn't just so. If I move my wallet elsewhere on my person, then the seating position doesn't seem to matter so much (though I definitely do have a seat setting where everything feels more 'together' in the car, compared to when I'm not sat in exactly that position).
I do sometimes have my mobile in my side pocket, so maybe that is putting me off balance.
Had a go at lunchtime anyway, got the seat all the way back and tilted bottom all the way down. Seems comfortable enough, except my foot was extended it its maximum when the clutch was all the way down. Do you other lanks get this?. Perhaps i have 5ft of upper body and 1ft 2 of legs and feet. For some reason i just pictured E.T driving my car.
Perhaps you are odd s:wink:  s:wink:
We'll have to find anothe "little legs" to help you out. I'm 5'11" with longish legs & short body, and the fully back, seat back forward one notch (because I prefer it, not because of squeaking, I have fabric not leather) works best for me.
Clutch leg is still bent at full depress. TBH if I am heel & toeing I tend to sit a little rotated to ensure knees don't get caught up in steering wheel. I find my feet sit a little more "vertical" on the pedals than when I am cruising or just tootling around town, and of course gear change is less frenetic.
im 6'4..
just seat all way back, pitch all way down, and view is fine, also head just below the seat. no probs..
it is hard getting in and out sometimes, my leg needs bending etc to get under the wheel, but apart from that alot of space. and loads of head room when top up.

I think your periscope is missing from the list of mods in your sig s;-) ;-) s;-)
south brum, wheres that then solihull?
and yes a periscope. nah for a small car there is loads of room inside for me..

I'm 6'6" and I also find it pretty comfortable, though it's definitely better with the extra room when the hard top's on (or the soft top's down!). Like Leon, the main problem I find is that it can be awkward getting in and out, but I'm used to that...
