Title: Rattling at 3000rpm from around aircon area
Post by: Anonymous on November 16, 2005, 15:26
Hi Guys / Girls,

I have spent many a day reading through all the rattling issues, but have not quite found an explanation for the most annoying one i am getting.

Has anyone experienced a rattling when your car gets to 2700rpm to 3000rpm  and then disapears when you are higher /lower in the rev range?.

The rattling appears to be coming from the dashboard near where the fan / ac controls are.  It seems to be directly related to the frequency of the engine at those revs, as when i put my foot on the clutch or decelerate it stops when it goes below 2700rpm.

Any help / info on how to fix this would be great, as i now find myself singing loudly to disguise the noise, which im sure will have my girlfriend battering me over the head with a frying pan to shut me up.

So for the sake of my relationship, and my sanity, please help!

Mike
