Title: Air Con Noise
Post by: Anonymous on December 1, 2005, 11:08
Ok, this is probabaly going to be a really stupid question with a very simple answer but:

As some of you may know from an earlier post, shortly after i had my car it was involved in a rear ender on the M5.  Which has had it in and out of repair centre's and Mr T since august.

Now its currently in Mr T to have some warranty rattling noises sorted out.

And i noticed this morning that my air con unit makes a slight whirring / buzzing noise when switched onto the first setting.

I have not noticed this before, and it does not sound like the fan noise when you switch up the power on it.

Also i realise that it does seem obvious that the aircon unit would make a noise in most cars, i am wondering if it is normal in the MR2 or if it should be 100% silent when turned onto the first setting.

Also, Mr T offered to do a free safety check on my car while they are fixing it.  Do any of you know if this is just Mr T saying, "im going to steal some money from you fool!"?

Cheers,

Mike

its worth it, they'll only be giving you a general overview but i've always taken them as they are for free and you can always check out what they say for yourself, theres no hassle

Unless I have to have the fan on I turn it totally off and the noise does my head in (obviosuly when i want quiet time so the radio isn't on).  Really crap design for isolating the fan noise.
