What size approx is the mk3 front radiator ?
Is there room for a second one behind ? is there actualy a second one available eg for air con ?
I have seen one at 11" by 8" on sale that might work with my planned set up I wonder if it would fit....
Thanks guys,
Phil
aircon rad actually fits in front of the main rad on cars that have it.
should be fine for your intercooler purposes,
I beleive that was how MPHs used to work, Martin care to comment?
I might just take a punt on this, thx mark.
no probs, just reread my post though, and I should add I beleive that was Martins location, I don't think it was teh aircon rad he used though.
wont there be issues with the length of the pipe runs?

I'm assuming that Phil is planning a chargecooler setup, rather than a front mount intercooler (so no issues with pipework length)..
A FMIC would be a little odd IMHO on a rear engined car (not impossible, but you'd drop a huge amount of boost over a pipe run that long, and possibly run into engine management issues as the MAF would be quite out of 'sync' compared to what was entering the pistons if it was a draw-through MAF)
yes L A G
I got out bid again *arrrr* yes chargecooler *cries*
Phil,
If you need info on my car's Chargecooler setup, drop me a line.
Off the top of my head, the one that is in the car is based on a PWR barrel chargcooler alongside the nearside of the engine, between the engine and the Battery. Its been custom fabricated with a 90 degree elbow to mate up to the intake side of the engine, and an extra 5th injector on that elbow to add fuel as needed.
I (think) the front radiator on mine is from a small Fiat - it goes in front of the existing rads, and is about half their width. Installing and operating a Chargecooler setup is a top idea to maximise power and reduce the risk of det.
It has to be said though that bleeding them and getting them set up right can be a right PITA.
If you are after a small radiator like Ben has described then you'll see half width ones in mk1 fiestas and mk1 golfs. Patent rads for these are very cheap
OK this is what I was trying to buy.
I still might go around a few breakers when I am ready.

It is mounted in front of the original radiator.
cool thats what im thinking
Yeeee haaaa
My creation is arrived !!!!
Egor throw the switch..... Now!!!
Ill probably bring this stuff along to the christmas meal if anyone wants a peak.
Im 90% well chuffed and 10% worried if it doesnt match up somehow.
Its from a bigger turbo'ed Scooby engine so I cant see why it couldnt flow adequate air for our puny engines.
