Hi me again!!!
I've read quite a bit about removing the pre-cats but there are a few things that I haven't seen mentioned anywhere.
I suppose I'm looking for yes or no's but any elaboration would be useful!
-Does removal of them invalidate the warranty?
-Will it improve performance?
-If yes to the above, what sort of gains can I expect? (bhp, torque, 0-60, top speed, etc...)
-Would I need to inform my insurer about this?
If there are any other points you feel are worth mentioning about this it'd be great to hear them.
Thanks.
Does removal of them invalidate the warranty?
Mr T would probably say yes but unless they could prove that their removal caused whatever damage you were trying to claim under warranty then they would be unlikely to make it stick
Will it improve performance?
You are removing a restriction so it will but you will probably not be able to notice it
Would I need to inform my insurer about this?
Technically you should but how are they going to know. My insurer asks about suspension bodywork and engine mods so I dont feel the need to tell him about a mod to the exhaust system s:lol:  s:lol:

Yes, although not removeing them could create more issues in the future, this is pretty much the only known reason for engine failure

not enough to really measure, maybe 1Bhp

1Bhp ish

i wouldn't bother, your not really adding anything to the car
Thanks - does anyone know someone who can remove them for me? i'm in West Yorkshire.
I don't fancy removing them myself - I will probably make a right cats ear of it!
