Title: Sony CDXF7750
Post by: MR2john on February 1, 2006, 20:03
Finally had enough of the stock Sony unit with it's latest problems of skipping CD, Volume full blast when touching the rotary knob   s:twisted:  s:twisted:
Thought I might have a look at the Sony CDXF7750 & was wondering if anyone has one installed & what's your honest opinion of this unit.
I would appreciate any feedback before I finally decide which unit to go for.

Cheers
John

i've got this installed in mine, took the double din out and fitted the new unit along with a facia adapater, took from a yaris i think, mr t did it for me and did it for free! i just paid for the part, looks 10 times better, sounds 10 times better, also ive got my ipod hooked up to it, hidden away in the glove box, also when listening to ipod or cd the aeriel is down so that solves any issues bout getting a smaller aerial fitted, loads of features on this, cool equalizer n cool screen, id recommend this one m8!

How's the display of the iPod tracks?  And how easy is it to control the iPod.

I'm holding out for a head unit that has the following:

TFT screen with ability to display cover art from the iPod
Bluetooth and built-in hands-free ability (microphone, etc.)

It would be ideal if it had NO CD player.  I never play CDs.

Thanks for the feedback. Definitely require the aerial function where it only operates when when in tuner mode. Not to fussed about little videos, probably wouldn't be able to see them very well in the 2 anyway.
Bossman seems pretty well satisfied with the overall package & has more or less convinced me to go for it  s:wink:  s:wink:

This, I guess, means that there's no RDS TP/TA operative when listening to ipod or CD.  Is this supposed to be a good thing?

all i can say is that i've had the ipod connected loads and nothing has been sacrificed, it sounds the same as if i was listening to the cd!

... but can you still get traffic announcements over the radio when listening to CD or ipod?

I've not read the manual, but i can tell you that its never cut off the cd/ipod for an traffic report, but then again on my old ICE it never cut off for a traffic report?!
