Hi everyone,
I am really considering a unichip for my MR2. I have had a look on ebay and there appears to be some for sale, but most of them look different. Different colours etc.
Are there any that i should avoid? Will any type of unichip work with the MR2? Any advise like this would be appreciated.
Matt
You could always buy this one...

Easy fitting, already tuned (ish) and you are sure that it works and is the right one.

Matt,
Stu (Kanujunkie) is selling his. Look in Private Ads section.
thanks, i have already put in a bid with Stu.
I think its well worth paying the extra for the harness for future ease of removal etc s:wink:  s:wink:
20 questions time.
What does the harness actually look like?
Is it standard with all new purchases?
If I had a new Unichip fitted would I have to pay extra for the harness?
I got a quote yesterday of £490 incl VAT for a Dastek Unichip, fitted and mapped. Is this what you would expect to pay? Just need to check about the harness thingy now.
Thanks
Alex
The harness was a special deal from Dastek US on a group buy.
If you buy now from Dastek you won't get it.
"All" it does is save the chip being hard wired into the loom, so you can take the chip in or out.
So fitting would be cheaper, and selling it when you sell the car (or go Turbo or whatever) would be a doddle.
If the chip is mapped on the car, then forgetting the harness advantages, £490 is a good deal IMO. If its a standard map, then any extras you have, like inlet duct, twin exhaust, won't be taken into account, nor will your normal fuel. Your choice really, but I would go for chip + harness (from Stu??) and have it mapped on the car.
you can get an extension loom to hack up from Autosport, as used by Dan, Tom, and Myself with teh emanage.
that will save you hacking about teh loomif you ca't get teh Pnp harness
